When will I get my order? Can I track it?
We ship all orders as soon as we can – usually next working day – and you’ll receive an email when it’s sent. Once it leaves our warehouse you can expect most UK orders to arrive in 2-5 working days and international orders to arrive in 5-14 working days. Unfortunately we don’t currently have the ability to track every book but please get in touch if your book hasn’t arrived within the suggested timeframes and we’ll see what we can do.
What condition will the book be in?
Our marketplace listing will describe the condition of each book. We use the following descriptions.
- NEW: Just what it says, direct from the publisher or distributor.
- LIKE NEW: Could easily be mistaken for brand new. Undamaged cover, no missing pages, all pages undamaged (no creases or tears), no underlining/highlighting of text, no damage to binding, no writing in margins. If the book normally has a dust jacket, the jacket is included. This book may be an overstock/remainder.
- VERY GOOD: In great condition for a second-hand book. Has been read but has no easily noticeable damage to the cover, all pages are present and undamaged (no creases or tears), minimal underlining/highlighting of text (perhaps on a few pages), no writing in margins, very minimal identifying marks inside cover, very minimal wear and tear. May be ex-library, with usual treatments; if so, the book will be noted as such in the comments.
- GOOD: Very minimal damage to the cover (no holes or tears, only minimal scuff marks), dust jacket not necessarily included, minimal wear to binding, majority of pages undamaged (minimal creases or tears), highlighting/underlining acceptable on textbooks as long as text is readable and it is not an excessive amount, no missing pages. May be ex-library with usual treatments; if so, the book will be noted as such in the comments.
- ACCEPTABLE: These are books that have been saved from being unnecessarily discarded. This book has a lot of history, but still deserves a loving home. Some significant wear to the cover but still intact; binding may be slightly weak. There might be writing in margins, or underlining/highlighting of text; there are no missing pages. If this item is ex-library with usual treatments or has some unusual or severe type of damage, such as water or binding, it will be noted in the comments.
What does ‘ex-library’ mean?
We work with lots of libraries, providing a useful outlet for all the books that they have taken out of circulation. These books may contain some or all of the normal library markings: a number on the side of the book, a stamp identifying the library, or a card sleeve on the inside cover. But don’t worry, the book is yours to keep, no late fees!
What if I need to change my address or cancel my order?
Just get in touch with us at support@BetterWorldBooks.co.uk as soon as you possibly can. Because of our fanatical dedication to getting orders out as quickly as possible, we may not be able to make the change you request. However, we will do our best!
Can I return a purchase if I’m not satisfied with it?
Of course. We expect you to be no less than 108% satisfied. In most cases we are able to offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase (45 days for international customers). Whilst we seek perfection, we are still human and occasionally make mistakes. Contact us at support@BetterWorldBooks.co.uk with any queries relating to returns and refunds.
